* A decision by 'yours truly' to give a lady colleague(Hlengiwe Khuzwayo) a chocolate (and a little poem) causing pandemonium at my workplace. All of a sudden secret past, present, current and future boyfriends popped up out of nowhere. They all wanted to know what is the 'jive'. They wanted to know why am I giving their woman chocolate gifts. Her fellow lady colleagues, too, teased her to no end. They asked her what kind of 'service' did she perform to earn such goodies.What was a guy to do?
All I wanted was to say 'thanks' to a colleague for her helpfulness on numerous occasions.
*The rise and rise of our national soccer team - Bafana Bafana.In their friendly game against Cameroon recently, they made us all very proud here in Mzansi.Just when I thought we were heading for another draw - which frankly never makes any team happy - Bafana suddenly lifted their game late in the second half to end up winning this match 3-2.A special 'big-up' must go to Teko Modise.His two strikes and that 'jive' he always does after scoring a goal were a joy to behold.Well done to our coaching staff and the boys.
*The way our street neighbours in my 'kasi' - Protea North - came through for us the other day.It was touching.
Small boys - bo-Sphamandla and his crew - were playing a soccer game just outside our yard.And as it happened, the soccer ball went over our boundary wall and broke one of our windows.We - as a family - then went over to inform the respective parents of the four boys about this incident.Without hesitation,all the parents agreed to chip in monetarily towards fixing our window. Once again, 'tanki' to Mama ka Sphamandla,Mama ka Kagiso,Mama ka Nhlanhla and Mama ka Motlalepula.
